Approximately 700 Houses to Be Provided to Displaced Residents of Artsakh
Approximately 700 houses will be provided to the displaced residents of Artsakh. This information was shared by the Ministry of Urban Development of Armenia.
As part of the renovation program for rural unoccupied houses in the Askeran, Martuni, and Martakert regions, the renovation of 71 houses has commenced as of December 30 of last year. Of these, 34 have already been put into operation, while renovations on the others are ongoing.
The renovation work for the planned 700 houses will begin shortly after receiving data on the number of unoccupied houses from the regional administrations.
An agreement has been reached between the Ministry of Urban Development and 28 construction companies to commence renovations of these houses alongside the restoration efforts.
Besides interior and exterior decoration, the rural houses will include kitchens and internal bathrooms. Meanwhile, relevant agreements are being established with regional administrations and the owners of unoccupied houses. Additionally, the program will also include houses in rural areas where no one has been living for many years.
The funding for the program will be provided through the “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund.
