517.8 Hectares Cleared of Unexploded Ordnance in Artsakh

Within a single day, the safe return of 146 displaced persons from Armenia to Artsakh has been ensured. In total, since November 14, 2020, 48,840 people have returned to their former places of residence in Artsakh. This information has been reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The specialists of the Russian peacekeeping contingent continue their demining efforts in the territories of Artsakh. An area of 37.6 hectares has been cleared, and 689 explosive objects have been discovered and removed for destruction. Overall, since the start of the demining operations in Artsakh on November 23, 2020, a total of 517.8 hectares, 197.8 kilometers of roads, and 750 residential buildings, including 24 socially significant facilities, have been cleared of unexploded ordnance. Additionally, 23,404 explosive objects have been identified and neutralized.

The Russian peacekeeping forces, in cooperation with representatives from the ICRC and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Artsakh, continue the search and transfer of bodies of those who lost their lives during military operations.

A hotline established to gather information about missing persons during the Artsakh conflict has received 575 phone calls. All applications have been forwarded to search groups from the reconciliation center of the parties involved.

The Russian medical team has provided outpatient and polyclinic assistance to 20 residents, including 2 children, in the village of Tblghu (located 44 kilometers northwest of Stepanakert). In total, Russian military doctors have assisted 1,238 residents of Artsakh, including 157 children.
