Suspect Wanted by Belgian Authorities Detained at Airport

The individual identified as Gurdev D. has been detained by the law enforcement of the Republic of Armenia at Zvartnots International Airport. He has been wanted by the Belgian authorities for organizing illegal migration since September 9, 2020, according to the Armenian police.

Thanks to operational and investigative measures taken by the officers of the line division of the Zvartnots Airport Police Department, Gurdev D. was detained after the passenger registration for the Yerevan-Dubai flight on January 10. The Belgian authorities have been seeking him since September 9, 2020, for the charge of organizing illegal migration.

The preventive measure taken against him is imprisonment. Interpol's National Central Bureau in Armenia and the Prosecutor's Office have been notified about the case.

It is important to note that a suspect or accused person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedural law defined by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia and through a legally valid court verdict.
