Putin, Aliyev, and Pashinyan's Agreements Will Help Stabilize Life for Peaceful Residents in Nagorno-Karabakh, State Duma Deputy
The agreements reached during the meeting today between the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia—Vladimir Putin, Ilham Aliyev, and Nikol Pashinyan—will facilitate the restoration of all infrastructure in Nagorno-Karabakh and help stabilize the lives of peaceful residents, according to Leonid Slutskin, Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the State Duma of Russia.
According to TASS, Slutskin stated, “The results of the trilateral meeting in Moscow reinforce the results achieved on November 9 of last year regarding the establishment of a ceasefire in the region. The new agreements will allow for the step-by-step restoration of all infrastructure and improve the lives of peaceful residents.”
He noted that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, which has persisted for 30 years, is becoming a thing of the past, while sustainable peace is being established in the region. “Russia plays a significant role as an effective mediator, a fact acknowledged by both the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides,” Slutskin emphasized.
The deputy added that Russia will continue to support the stabilization of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, and Russian peacekeepers will continue to safeguard peace in the region.
It is noteworthy that the trilateral meeting of Putin, Aliyev, and Pashinyan took place today, resulting in an agreement to create a working group aimed at opening economic routes, which will present a regional infrastructure development plan to the leaders of the countries by March 1.
