I Hope This Will End the Manipulations Regarding Syunik or Meghri
The Deputy of the 'My Step' faction in the National Assembly of Armenia and the Chairman of the Permanent Committee on Foreign Relations Ruben Rubinyan writes on his Facebook page:
“A statement was signed today in Moscow, according to which a tripartite working group will be established under the co-chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Ministers of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan with the aim of unblocking all economic and transport communications in the region. The unblocking is in Armenia’s interests, as its implementation will also restore our railway connection with Iran and Russia, potentially creating new economic opportunities for us.
It is also necessary to pay attention to the fact that in this statement, the transport connection between Azerbaijan and Nakhichevan is not separated in any way. In other words, this statement clearly fixes the agenda for unblocking all regional communications as a single entity – in one context. This is an important diplomatic success.
I hope this will also end the manipulations regarding Syunik or Meghri in our political field.
During the tripartite meeting, the Armenian side raised the issue of the prompt exchange of prisoners of war. Although it was not possible to achieve a specific result on this matter today, the issue remains one of the Armenian side's key agenda items. The Russian side supports Armenia's position on this issue.”
