Damage to Turkish Registered Trucks in Yerevan due to Road Dispute
On January 8, an emergency incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 19:50, the operational management center of the Yerevan Traffic Police received a report that citizens were damaging Turkish registered trucks at the intersection of Nairi Zaryan Street and Freedom Avenue in the Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district.
According to photographer Gagik Shamshyan, a team from the Yerevan Traffic Police and the Kanaker-Zeytun police department arrived at the scene. At the location, police discovered two trucks with license plates TR 08 K 6839 and TR 08 K 6614, which had been damaged with lights and side mirrors broken.
As reported by the photographer, officers from the Kanaker-Zeytun police department established that the listed trucks belonged to the Yerevan-based company “Gyuzden Nakliat,” and a representative of this company was summoned to the police. It was found that while traveling on Freedom Avenue, the trucks had been stopped by the driver of another vehicle due to mutual failure to yield, from which two individuals emerged and attacked the Turkish trucks with metal rods, damaging their lights and right-side mirrors.
Thanks to the operational and investigative measures taken by the officers from the criminal investigation department of the Kanaker-Zeytun police, it was determined that one of the offenders is a 48-year-old citizen of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Edwin Mokeli Khodaverdin. Police are taking necessary measures to determine the identity of this individual and the other person involved.
