Major Accident Occurs on Vedi-Osketap Highway: Drivers Die at the Scene, Injured Reported
On January 10 at 03:43, the Ararat Crisis Management Center received information about a traffic accident in the village of Oskeetap, with reported injuries. A response team from the regional rescue service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations dispatched a fire-rescue unit to the scene.
It was discovered that vehicles, a 'Mercedes-Benz C' (driver: Vrezh G., born in 1980) and an 'Opel Astra' (driver: Sevak S., born in 1992), collided on the 8th km of the Vedi-Oskeetap highway, resulting in the deaths of both drivers at the scene.
Before the rescuers arrived, passengers of the 'Opel Astra,' Norik (born in 1990) and Davit (born in 1999) Saroyans, were hospitalized at Vedi Medical Center, where doctors assessed their condition as critical.
The rescuers de-energized the vehicles, closed the gas cylinder valves, and retrieved the drivers’ bodies from the vehicles using specialized equipment before transferring them to the ambulance.
