Circumstances of Hooliganism and Severe Bodily Harm by 27-Year-Old Resident of Armavir Identified

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has revealed the circumstances surrounding a case of hooliganism and causing serious bodily harm by a 27-year-old resident of Armavir city following extensive investigative and procedural actions.

According to the collected evidence, on December 25, 2018, around 8 PM, the 27-year-old man, along with a group of individuals, engaged in violent acts against a 28-year-old resident of the same region near the city park on Republic Street in Armavir city, in the presence of police officers and citizens, out of a desire to assert himself.

Disregarding the legitimate demands of the police officers, the young man continued his violent actions with his friends and struck the 28-year-old, who was lying on the ground, with a baseball bat, causing serious harm that threatened the latter's life.

Based on the gathered evidence, the 27-year-old has been charged under Article 112 (Causing Serious Bodily Harm Intentionally) Part 2, Clause 6 and Article 258 (Hooliganism) Part 4 of the RA Criminal Code. An individual proceeding has been separated regarding the 27-year-old, the preliminary investigation of which has been completed, and the criminal case has been sent to court with an accusatory conclusion. The investigation continues into the other individuals alleged to have committed the crime alongside him.
