56.34 km of Road Sections Renovated in Kotayk Province in 2020

In 2020, a total of 56.34 km of road sections were renovated in Kotayk Province, of which 30.1 km was funded by the state budget. This information was provided by the Kotayk Provincial Administration.

The renovation works included sections of the Republican significance road from Nor Geghi to Argely-Arzakan-Hrazdan, particularly the Hrazdan-Verin Aghbyurak section, as well as the renovation of the Yegvard transport hub’s portion of the Yegvard-Artashat road, the section of the Yerevan-Sevan highway traversing Kotayk Province, and the Yegvard four-way bridge renovations. Also included were renovations for the Masis transport hub and a section leading from Verin Ptghni to Masis (bypassing Yerevan), along with the renovation of the bridge near Dzoraqbyur.

With funding from the Territorial Development Fund, 1.6 km of the Shakhumyan Street section in Hrazdan has been renovated. Through the government's subsidy program, 24.64 km were renovated. Under the government's 2020 subsidy programs, 26 projects related to renovation, reconstruction, and maintenance of roads have been completed across 21 communities including Abovyan, Gohat, Balakhovit, Arinj, Nor Yerznka, Byureghavan, Karashamb, Hrazdan, Teghenik, Akunk, Lernanist, Solak - Meghrador, Kamaris, Geghard, Tsaghkadzor, Nor Geghi, Proshyan, Kanakerravan, Yegvard, and Arzni.

Only two projects, the road renovations in Arinj and Kamaris, have had their works postponed to the following year. As a result of the completed projects, approximately 21.39 km of road has been asphalted or improved. Additionally, two road construction projects approved in 2019, in Tsaghkadzor (0.85 km) and Charentsavan (2.4 km), were executed in 2020, resulting in an additional 3.25 km of road being asphalted. The total budget for road construction in the province amounts to approximately 4 billion drams.
