Over 300 Ha of Land, 120 Km of Roads, and 505 Buildings Cleared of Mines in Nagorno-Karabakh
The Russian Ministry of Defense reports that mine clearance operations continue in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. During the operations, the engineering units of the Russian peacekeeping forces have cleared more than 300 hectares of land, over 120 kilometers of roads, and 505 buildings.
More than 12,000 explosive devices have been discovered and deactivated. According to the department, the Russian peacekeepers use modern robotic systems during the clearance process to ensure a high pace of mine clearance in mountainous terrain. The identified explosive devices and unexploded ordnance are removed and destroyed at a specially equipped training area. Munitions that cannot be transported are destroyed on-site while adhering to safety regulations.
