65 Officers of the Armenian Police Have Died in the Artsakh War: Their Names Released

During the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh on September 27, 65 officers of the Armenian Police lost their lives, with 6 more reported as missing.

“On September 27, Azerbaijani-Turkish troops and mercenary terrorists launched large-scale military operations against the Republic of Artsakh. The nation stood up as an army to defend its homeland. Just as in the First Artsakh War and the April battles, this time, the police became soldiers. From the first days of the war, about 3,000 officers of the police forces were sent to the front line in rotations. They took part in the defensive battles in Karvachar, Haterk, Jrakan, and Berdzor. Heavy battles were fought particularly in the areas adjacent to the Shushi-Lisagor road, during which the police forces suffered significant losses.

Throughout the war, 38 officers of the police forces became immortalized, and about forty were wounded. Let us recognize all our fallen heroes who fought for the defense of the homeland, remember them name by name, and continue their unfinished work.

The police forces were joined by an additional 3,200 personnel from various police units, including the central apparatus, special purpose department, and regional divisions. They were deployed in various areas including Jrakan, Berdzor, Shushi, and Martakert. Of these, 27 officers also became immortalized, and 124 were wounded.
