Winter Draft to Start on December 25

The mandatory military and alternative service winter draft for citizens of the Republic of Armenia will commence on December 25. This decision was made during today’s government meeting.

The content of the decision is as follows: “To announce the winter draft of 2020, which includes the mandatory military and alternative service for male citizens of the Republic of Armenia whose 18th birthday falls before December 31, 2020, as well as for those citizens whose previous deferment from mandatory military service expires before December 31, 2020.”

It is also planned that within the framework of the 2020 winter draft, servicemen who have completed their mandatory military or alternative service will be discharged during the statutory period by February 14, 2021, inclusive.
