What Weapons and Ammunition Were Transported to Armenia and Who Was Arrested: 'Joghavourd'
During the Artsakh war, it was reported that several individuals transported weapons and ammunition to Armenia. Recently, specific details have emerged regarding these cases, including who has been arrested and what kinds of weapons and ammunition were brought to Armenia.
In particular, Zohrap Galstyan has been charged with illegally acquiring, possessing, and transporting weapons, military equipment, and explosive devices, having reached preliminary agreement with Harout Mirumyan and Mesrop Gasparyan. On October 26, 2020, under unspecified circumstances, they illegally acquired two 'AK-103' type automatic rifles, 77 rounds of 7.62 mm caliber ammunition, and one F-1 type grenade. They were found improperly carrying these weapons and military supplies in the vehicle driven by Harout Mirumyan with license plate number 35 VV 541, taking an alternative route via the Khaznavar-Verishen-Goris road instead of the Artsakh Republic's Agavno checkpoint towards Tegh and Goris.
On October 26, 2020, around 20:00, after the mentioned vehicle was parked at a fixed checkpoint of the RA Police and National Security Service in the Verishen community, a search revealed the rifles in the trunk of the vehicle, 60 rounds in the rear passenger door pocket, and the grenade along with 17 rounds presented by Mesrop Gasparyan from the pocket of his jacket. The three mentioned individuals have been arrested.
It should be noted that this is one of the criminal cases initiated during the war, for which the investigative body has declared the completion of the preliminary investigation and sent the case to court.
