Vardenyats Pass Closed to Trailers, Tatev-Aghvan-Kapan Road Impassable for All Vehicles

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed and impassable roads throughout Armenia. The roads leading to Amberd Fortress and Kari Lake in the Aragatsotn region are closed. The Vardenyats Pass is closed to truck trailers and impassable for other vehicles. The Tatev-Aghvan-Kapan (H-45) and Vedi-Urcalanj roads are difficult to navigate for all types of vehicles.

Snow is currently falling in the Syunik region. Some roads in Gegharkunik and Syunik regions have patches of black ice. According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the North Ossetia Emergency Situations Ministry of Russia, the Stepanstminda-Larsi road is open for all types of vehicles.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, the decision to restrict foreigners' entry into Georgia remains in effect. This restriction does not apply to freight transport. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
