Suren Papikyan Introduces New Governor to Lori Province Administration

The Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, today introduced the newly appointed governor, Aram Khachatryan, to the staff of the Lori Provincial Administration and local self-government leaders.

In his speech, the minister expressed gratitude to the territorial administration, local self-governing bodies, and the population of the province for their organization and cohesion during the days of war, both at the front and in the rear.

Minister Papikyan also thanked the former governor of Lori, Andrey Ghukasyan, for the reforms implemented in the province during his tenure and for demonstrating high responsibility during the challenging wartime period.

Speaking about the difficulties in the post-war period, Minister Papikyan stated: “In this situation, it is very important that we can hold firmly the backbone of our state. This is a serious challenge for the third Republic of Armenia, and you, as directly elected representatives of the public, have an important role to play. I am not talking about the existence of any government; I am talking about the Republic of Armenia, the statehood of the Armenians. Here, regardless of our political views and positions, each of us is a partner and friend. I emphasize this so that each of us can ask ourselves how much we contribute or hinder the unity needed to face the challenges ahead of our country.”

Introducing the newly appointed governor of Lori, the minister noted that Aram Khachatryan, due to his long-standing public and political activities, is well aware of the issues facing the province. The minister wished him success in his future endeavors in the field of territorial administration and expressed confidence that the established effective cooperation would continue.

Newly appointed governor Aram Khachatryan, for his part, thanked the government for entrusting him with this responsible position and assured that he would do his utmost to ensure the province's development, foster trust, and create a partnership atmosphere.
