Raffi Hovhannisyan Undergoes Complicated Heart Surgery Abroad
The first Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and founder of the "Heritage" party, Raffi Hovhannisyan, has undergone a complicated heart surgery abroad. Doctors have temporarily prohibited physical movements, and therefore Raffi Hovhannisyan cannot yet return to his homeland. This was stated in a message released by the "Heritage" party’s executive board, adding that this does not imply that he is detached from the search for solutions to the current severe events.
“Raffi Hovhannisyan's entire biography is a manifestation of selfless dedication to the homeland and the establishment of Armenian statehood. He has realized this both as the first Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, under whose tenure the process of recognizing Armenia as a sovereign state took place, as well as party leader, member of parliament, and then the unified candidate for the presidency, from which victory was taken away. However, he preferred not to resort to violence, as the position is not a primary goal for such a figure, but rather the public peace and the state interests of Armenia,” the message states.
Those holding the highest positions in the Republic of Armenia have much to learn from Raffi Hovhannisyan, who has always subordinated his personal interests to the national ones. The “Heritage” party he founded has been and continues to be a force based on the principles of national democracy and liberalism. Furthermore, Raffi Hovhannisyan has never been a solitary figure; his entire family has served to the best of their abilities in addressing the challenges faced by Armenians in Armenia and Artsakh. For instance, the charity organization "Ortags" founded by Arminé Hovhannisyan still provides assistance to Armenian refugees from Artsakh, as well as to children from disadvantaged residents in border regions and areas,” it is indicated in the message.
The "Heritage" party, along with its political council leader, actively participates in finding nationally beneficial and effective solutions to the challenges that have arisen before Armenia following the destructive war and the controversial statement made on November 9.
