Head of the State Revenue Committee Elected as Chair of CIS Tax Services Coordinating Council
On December 23, the 27th session of the Coordinating Council of Heads of Tax Services of CIS Member States (CIS TSHS) was held, attended by delegations from the tax authorities of member states, as well as representatives of the CIS Executive Committee. This information was reported by the Information and Public Relations Department of the SRC.
Due to the pandemic, the session was held in a video conference format. The Armenian delegation was represented by the Deputy Chairman of the SRC, Ashot Muradyan. The main theme of the meeting was dedicated to the activities of tax services of CIS member states during the pandemic (COVID-19) and overcoming its consequences. In this context, Deputy Chairman Ashot Muradyan presented a report on the measures taken by the State Revenue Committee of Armenia to combat the pandemic.
During the meeting, contemporary directions for increasing tax certainty by tax authorities, joint tax audits, and various issues of tax administration improvement were also discussed. The work program of the Coordinating Council of Heads of Tax Services of CIS member states for 2021 was also approved.
The importance of cooperation between tax authorities of CIS countries in exchanging information electronically was emphasized during the meeting. The working group of the Coordinating Council of Heads of Tax Services has already developed and approved formats for information exchange. Furthermore, in 2020, electronic test exchanges of information between tax authorities were carried out, and in 2021, a complete exchange of available information through electronic means is planned.
Within the framework of the meeting, the Chairman of the Coordinating Council of Heads of Tax Services for 2021 was elected as the Chairman of the SRC, Edward Hovhannisyan.
The next, 28th meeting of the Coordinating Council of Heads of Tax Services of CIS member states will be held in the Republic of Armenia in October 2021.
