Head of ICRC Delegation Presents Post-War Activities to Deputy Speaker of Parliament

On December 23, Vahе Enfiajyan, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, met with Thierry Ribaux, the newly appointed head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation in Armenia. This was reported by the official website of the parliament.

Welcoming his guest to the parliament, Vahе Enfiajyan congratulated him on taking office and wished him success in his responsible role. Emphasizing the importance of the Red Cross office's operations in Armenia during this challenging situation, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament also expressed his gratitude to the ICRC delegation for their efforts since September 27 in recovering the bodies of servicemen who lost their lives due to the Azerbaijani-Turkish aggression, as well as for the search operations for the missing persons and the wounded, clarifying the fates of prisoners of war and other detained individuals, and for the support provided to the civilianpopulation affected by military operations.

Thierry Ribaux detailed the activities of his organization since the end of military operations. He informed that the ICRC, as a neutral and impartial organization, has participated in search operations for missing persons, conducted operations to locate the bodies of the deceased, met with Armenian prisoners of war, and became acquainted with their conditions of detention. The head of the ICRC delegation assured that their organization would continue to carry out its mediating humanitarian mission.

The Deputy Speaker of Parliament expressed his willingness to assist the organization within his capabilities to carry out its work more swiftly and effectively.
