Citizens Surrender Illegal Weapons at Police Stations
As a result of the explanatory work of the Malatia police, a 57-year-old man voluntarily surrendered a factory-numbered Kalashnikov assault rifle, a grenade detonator, and 270 bullets of 5.45 mm caliber in the administrative district where he resides. According to him, he had acquired the weapons and ammunition years ago.
According to the Public Relations and Information Department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia, a 27-year-old young man living in Yerevan voluntarily surrendered an F-1 type grenade with a detonator to the department on December 22, which he claimed to have brought from Artsakh.
A 24-year-old young man living in a village also surrendered a factory-numbered Makarov pistol to the department, thanks to the explanatory work of local police, stating that he had brought it from Artsakh.
As a result of the explanatory work of the Kapan police, two men voluntarily came to the department and surrendered a grenade launcher and a shortened shotgun with a break-open mechanism. They stated that they had brought the grenade launcher and the shotgun from Artsakh.
Thanks to the explanatory work of the community police in the Kotayk division, a young man living in Kotayk village voluntarily surrendered a homemade pistol that belonged to his deceased father, along with 25 rounds for the assault rifle.
A factory-numbered rifle was voluntarily surrendered to the Artashat police department by a man living in the village of Mrgavet, who stated that the rifle belonged to his father who passed away years ago.
A factory-numbered rifle was also voluntarily surrendered to the police department in Armavir. The resident of Nor Armavir village who brought the rifle claimed it belonged to his deceased father.
As a result of the explanatory work of the community police in the Baghramyan division, two residents of the villages of Shenik and Lernagog voluntarily surrendered grenades with detonators and more than 90 bullets of various calibers and firearms, which they claimed to have brought from Artsakh.
