18-Year-Old Resident of Aknalich Village Charged with Stabbing Community Member

The criminal investigation department of the Armavir region has completed the preliminary investigation into the case of intentionally causing serious harm to another's health. During the investigation, it was revealed that an 18-year-old resident of Aknalich village, on April 6, 2020, around 04:30, after his father had left for the market, heard noises coming from his parents' room around 05:00.

Upon entering, he saw his mother with a community member and, taking a knife from the kitchen, returned and, while the community member was attempting to flee from the bedroom, deliberately stabbed him in the back, intentionally causing serious harm that endangered his life.

Based on the evidence obtained during the pre-trial proceedings, the young man was charged under Part 1 of Article 112 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (intentionally causing serious harm to health). As a measure of restraint, a signature not to leave has been chosen for him. The preliminary investigation has been completed, and the criminal case has been sent to court with an accusatory conclusion.
