The National Assembly Staff Has Not Been Rewarded
The head of the National Assembly staff, Tigran Galstyan, wrote on his Facebook page: "Today, rumors about the reward of the National Assembly staff have once again started circulating in the media. No new directive has been signed by the NA President. The dissemination of articles today about the directive signed by the NA President on December 14 can only be qualified as manipulation.
Below, I attach my previous clarification on this issue.
“On December 16, 2020, CLARIFICATION: The employees of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia have been paid, as is commonly said, the "13th salary" ahead of the New Year, which has been a long-standing practice in both public and private organizations, and employees always take these financial means into account when planning their family budgets.
I want to emphasize that the NA President decided not to allocate the 13th salary to the deputies. The corresponding directive was signed by the NA President on December 14 and is subject to publication within two days. Taking this opportunity, I would like to inform you that during 2020, the National Assembly staff has already managed to save and redirect around 845 million drams from rewards and many other items to the state budget, which has served to address issues related to the pandemic and the war.
We aim to increase the total savings directed to the state budget to at least 1.2 billion by the end of the year, which constitutes 20 percent of the NA's annual budget,” Galstyan wrote.
