Putin and Macron Discuss Conflict Resolution in Nagorno-Karabakh

On December 22, a telephone conversation took place between the Presidents of Russia and France, Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel Macron, during which the parties discussed the resolution of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. This was reported by the press service of the Kremlin.

“The situation surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh was discussed in detail. The President of Russia emphasized that the situation in the region is stabilizing, and the agreements cemented by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia in the November 9 declaration are being implemented consistently. The successful work carried out by Russian peacekeepers, who ensure the observance of the ceasefire regime and the safety of the civilian population at the request of Baku and Yerevan, was highlighted,” the Kremlin's message stated.

It was noted that the parties confirmed their willingness to continue coordinating various perspectives on the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, particularly within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group. Among the most pressing perspectives are humanitarian issues related to the return of displaced Artsakh residents, the restoration of infrastructure, and the preservation of cultural and religious monuments, particularly in accordance with the work of the International Center for Humanitarian Response.
