Families of Civilian Casualties Still Not Benefiting from Social Support Programs

We are currently finalizing a special report on civilian casualties caused by the Azerbaijani armed forces, which will include all key personal data and a brief description of incidents in the public version, and many pre-mortem and post-mortem photographs in the closed version. This was stated by Artak Beglaryan, who today resigned from his position as the Ombudsman of Artsakh due to taking up another job in the Government.

“We will publish the report in the morning, and I hope to manage to release two other reports tomorrow as part of summarizing our fact-finding activities. In this context, I would especially like to emphasize that the Republics of Artsakh and Armenia need to make legislative changes quickly and provide a specific status for civilian casualties and their families. To this day, family members of civilian casualties have not benefited from any social support program, even though they have also fallen victim to the enemy's crimes, many while performing their work duties,” wrote Beglaryan.
