Armenian Military Prosecutor Meets with Russian Southern Military District Officials
The Armenian Military Prosecutor and Deputy Chief Prosecutor Vahe Harutyunyan today welcomed the Military Prosecutor of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation, Sergei Kolomiyets, and the Head of the Investigative Department of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Southern Military District, Sergei Arefyev, who are in Armenia and Artsakh on a working visit. This was reported by the Prosecutor's Office.
Welcoming the guests, Vahe Harutyunyan highly appreciated the ongoing high-level and effective cooperation between the military prosecutor's offices of Armenia and Russia, which stems from the spirit of the friendly and military relations between the two countries.
The Armenian Military Prosecutor added that the deployment of Russian peacekeeping forces in Artsakh significantly expands the guarantees of security for Artsakh and its people, creating grounds for alleviating tensions along the contact line.
Vahe Harutyunyan noted that the presence of Russian peacekeeping forces in Artsakh serves as an additional impetus for closer cooperation, facilitating work meetings and promptly addressing emerging issues.
During the meeting, issues related to the legal support of the peacekeeping mission in Artsakh implemented by the troops of the Russian Southern Military District, as well as the procedures and methods of cooperation between the prosecutorial and investigative bodies of Armenia and Artsakh in this framework, were discussed.
