Vehicle Leaves Road and Falls from Cliff onto Railroad Right-of-Way
On December 18, at 6:00 AM, a Ford Transit truck with license plate 36SQ472 left the roadway in the Pambak-Shahali region of Lori province and fell onto the railroad's right-of-way from a cliff. According to the driver, a resident of Ejmiadzin who sustained various injuries from the accident, he lost control of the vehicle due to fog and black ice conditions. The truck skidded, breaking two warning signs indicating a sharp bend in the road, as well as a fence made of concrete blocks and earth mounds.
As a result of the incident, the train schedule was not disrupted. This marks the sixth similar incident this year where a vehicle has fallen onto the railway tracks in the Lori province alone. The South Caucasus Railway has taken all necessary measures to ensure the safety of train operations and urges drivers to strictly adhere to traffic regulations.
