Compensation for Damages to Real Estate of Residents in Syunik and Gegharkunik Regions

The government will compensate for the damages caused to citizens' real estate in Armenian communities as a result of shelling by Azerbaijan. Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Mesrop Arakelyan noted that this pertains to the compensation of damaged property belonging to residents of the Syunik and Gegharkunik regions, totaling 75 real estate units. The minister reported that the destructions are mainly of small scale.

“We have only one completely damaged house that is uninhabitable. Additional discussions are being held to provide that family with separate accommodation. There are also certain damages to movable property. The government will present additional measures for compensation of the damages to movable property,” said Arakelyan, adding that the mechanism will be confirmed in the coming days. Citizens will apply online, present the necessary data, and the approval process will take place within five days, with the funds transferred to their bank accounts.

Mesrop noted that they already have a list of affected individuals, and staff will personally reach out to residents, rather than waiting for applications, considering that this involves a limited number of villages.
