I have evidence that Shushi was not taken by military means: this was stated earlier during a live broadcast by Semyon Pegov, the creator of the WarGonzo project, who was in Artsakh during the days of the war.

“I am confident and even have evidence that against the backdrop of Aliyev's statement, which Baku was preparing for so eagerly, that ‘Shushi was taken through military means’, such a thing did not happen. This is the absolute truth. At that moment, there were members of the Artsakh Defense Army in Shushi. According to my information, this concerns up to 200 people located in different areas of the city,” said the Russian journalist, adding that even on the night of November 9, they were ready to advance and attack.

According to him, around 5 AM, hundreds of soldiers were prepared to assist those in Shushi to cleanse the city from Azerbaijani groups, but by 5 AM they already received an order to retreat and soon learned about the joint statement.
