100 Blotters of LSD Detected in Shipment Imported from Germany, Says State Revenue Committee

The Anti-Smuggling Department of the State Revenue Committee continues its fight against the illegal transportation of drugs and psychotropic substances across the border of the Republic of Armenia. In a recent operation conducted in collaboration with the staff of the National Security Service of Armenia, another case of drug smuggling has been uncovered.

Specifically, during inspections at the "Zvartnots" Airport Cargo Complex, 100 blotters of LSD-type narcotics were discovered in an international package imported from the Federal Republic of Germany.

Following the incident, urgent operational and investigative measures were taken by the Anti-Smuggling Department and the National Security Service. As a result of the "Controlled Delivery and Acquisition" operational measure, a U.S. citizen, identified as I.B., was detained after receiving the shipment containing narcotics.

A criminal case has been initiated at the Investigative Department of the State Revenue Committee under the relevant articles of the RA Criminal Code, and the individual has been arrested.

Note: The accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the law by a court verdict that has entered into legal force.
