The Security Issue of Goris-Berdzor-Stepanakert Road Requires Urgent Solutions
The security issue of the Goris-Berdzor-Stepanakert road is one of the unresolved matters that demands urgent solutions. This was stated by Tigran Abrahamyan, head of the 'Henaket' analytical center, on his Facebook page.
'To this day, its security is not fully guaranteed, and one day after the Kashatagh region (Lachin) is completely handed over to Azerbaijan, the degree of danger will increase even more. Recently, along this road, Azerbaijani forces have been engaging in various provocations, as you can encounter both vehicles with Azerbaijani license plates as well as people riding horses or walking along the highway in the Lisagor-Shushi section. The latter are not only threatening our compatriots passing on the highway through various movements but are also causing technical issues by any means possible. This is a serious problem that has not been adequately negotiated by the person occupying the Prime Minister's office, and today there are no serious discussions regarding this topic.
The complete handover of Kashatagh will significantly exacerbate this issue, especially since the fate of the communities located along various sections of the road remains uncertain,' he noted.
