Meetings Held with International Experts on War Crimes and Use of Prohibited Weapons at the Investigative Committee
Today, meetings took place at the Military Investigative Main Department and the Forensic Department of the RA Investigative Committee with international expert on war crimes, French-Armenian criminalist Eliz Poghosyan, and international expert on the use of prohibited weapons Jean-Luc Mesager.
The discussions focused on serious violations of international humanitarian law during the aggressive war unleashed and conducted by the military-political leadership of the Republic of Azerbaijan along the entire line of contact with Nagorno-Karabakh, the use of prohibited weapons, and the appointment and implementation of large-scale expert examinations by the prosecuting authorities in relation to these incidents.
The meetings addressed a number of acts considered serious violations of international humanitarian law, specifically: the killing and torture of Armenian prisoners of war and civilians by the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan, demonstrating cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatment towards them, and the use of mercenaries in military operations.
During the meetings, agreements were reached on continuing further collaborative work.
