Covid Safety Norms Apply at the Armenian Border

In light of the increasing passenger flow into Armenia, the Health and Labor Inspectorate of the Republic of Armenia once again emphasizes the Covid safety procedures in place for individuals entering the country. This information has been provided by the Health and Labor Inspectorate.

The ruling N 1756-N of the Armenian government is in effect, which stipulates that:

  • If a person entering Armenia has a negative Covid test taken no more than 72 hours prior and supporting documents, they are exempt from self-isolation requirements.
  • If the aforementioned negative Covid test and supporting documents are not available, the person must undergo testing either at the airport or at sampling points located at border crossing sites and must self-isolate until a negative result from the PCR test is obtained.

Flights are gradually resuming at Shirak Airport as well, and it is noted that Covid sampling points are also operational there. The presence of a Covid test result for individuals entering Armenia is checked by the border medical control points of the Health and Labor Inspectorate.

Simultaneously, individuals are informed about the rules of self-isolation and the consequences of their violation. Relevant notification forms are provided for signature, and only after that will the police allow the individual to exit the airport.

All citizens entering the country undergo immediate inspection at the border crossing point conducted by the Health and Labor Inspectorate (which includes remote temperature checks, physical examinations, and additional inquiries in case of clinical symptoms typical of infections). Based on the inspection results, a person will be hospitalized if any relevant symptoms are present.
