Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council and Three Members Refuse to Meet with Armenian Prime Minister

The Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, Ruben Vardazaryan, along with three members—Stepan Mikayelyan, Armen Haikyan, and Mesrop Makyan—have also refused to participate in today's meeting with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. This was reported by the Mediaport Telegram channel.

They stated that such a meeting with the Prime Minister, which also includes the Attorney General of Armenia, the chairman of the Investigative Committee, and the head of the Special Investigation Service, contradicts the constitutional status of the Supreme Judicial Council and is illegal.

Participating with great enthusiasm in the meeting with the Prime Minister were Supreme Judicial Council members Liparit Melikjanyan and Vigen Kocharyan. It is noted that Liparit Melikjanyan was previously a candidate for MP from Nikol Pashinyan's led “Yelk” coalition, while Vigen Kocharyan has a reputation of being a “Moli Nikolakan.”

Additionally, it was reported that today's meeting with Nikol Pashinyan discussed the status of ongoing investigations into individual criminal cases, and the judges and members of the Supreme Judicial Council participating in this process were seated next to the head of the National Security Service, the leaders of the investigative bodies, Minister of Justice Rustam Badyan, and Pashinyan's assistant Anna Vardapetyan. As a result, Pashinyan was trying to create the impression that the judicial system is also an institution subject to him.
