We Decided to Continue the Assault with Available Forces, But We All Experienced a Cold Shower: Arshavir Gharamyan

On November 9, a decision was made to continue the assault the next morning with available forces towards the Shushi-Karin Tak intersection, but then something happened as a result of which we all experienced a cold shower. This was shared on Facebook by Artsakh hero Arshavir Gharamyan, providing details about the battles for Shushi.

The operational group formed in Berdzor took on the responsibility for conducting defensive and offensive operations along the L. Kirs-Lisagor-Zaruslu-gas pipeline front starting from November 5. The commander of the group, Colonel Hrayr Tovmasyan, immediately began carrying out the combat task and personally assumed command of the reconnaissance group, and by conducting battle reconnaissance, reached an area called "Shakhsibulagh." Then, on November 7 and 8, after repelling numerous enemy assaults along the Shushi-Lisagor road and inflicting significant losses on enemy forces, a decision was made to launch an assault towards the Shushi-Karin Tak intersection after receiving reinforcements on the morning of November 9, with the aim of cutting off the enemy's advance units from their main forces.

In the early morning, a fierce battle began between the enemy and our unit, as the foe aimed to take control of Zaruslu at any cost and then attack Lisagor. Failing and suffering heavy casualties, by midday, the enemy, involving a large amount of infantry, attempted to outflank our boys through the Karin Tak-Pokhr Zaruslu (Nabilar) gorge. However, after being detected by our commander, the fire of our artillery (commander: Colonel Karen Babayan) was directed at the enemy forces concentrated in the gorge, resulting in hundreds of casualties, causing the mentioned forces to panic and scatter.

A decision had already been made to continue the assault the next morning with available forces towards the Shushi-Karin Tak intersection, but then something happened as a result of which we all experienced a cold shower… I should also mention that the situation reports about the attacking forces from Stepanakert and those engaged in battles inside Shushi were conflicting. Subsequently, the enemy gathered corpses for eight days from the aforementioned operational areas, and today the boys received news: "Yes, how did you guys tell them... in the morning in the gorge, the Turks discovered 92 corpses in just one place and are a bit agitated; let them calm down first, then we will open the road."
