The Dignified Health Workers' Union Demands Arsen Torosyan's Resignation
The Dignified Health Workers' Union demands the resignation of Arsen Torosyan. In their statement, they say: "The audacity of the person holding the position of Minister of Health has reached a level where the number one responsible person for the fragmentation and dismantling of the sector dares to call for 'unity.' This is in a situation where, due to his incompetent management, disregard for professionals, and arrogant posture, the sector has long been on the verge of collapse. There are COVID patients who are dying at home without having received proper medical assistance, and the organization of medical care by his agency is in a sloppy, disastrous, and fundamental state, with no unified approach to management. Numerous, sometimes contradictory schemes are being applied, and due to uncontrolled use in extrahospital conditions, resistance to antibiotics has developed and deepened, with all its negative consequences. The COVID epidemic has long entered an uncontrollable phase due to unpreparedness and inaction.
The person who has led the sector to enormous failures arrogantly manages to speak of unity and readiness to help one another, when the doors of a healthcare system that is fighting on two fronts were closed even during the days of war to experienced doctors who underwent COVID treatment training and had worked in hospitals, solely because they liked critical materials about him on Facebook. Can you imagine the level of vindictiveness from such incompetent people in a flawed system they created, when doctors who broke contracts due to extreme need are not hired in COVID treatment clinics?
All of this is clearly documented. Apparently, the hypocrisy of people like him knows no bounds. As a result, under the tolerance and indifference of his leadership:
Science lost to ignorance,
Intelligence lost to stupidity,
The law lost to lawlessness,
Professionalism lost to dilettantism,
Planning lost to disorganization,
Strategy lost to chaos,
The public interest lost to the personal,
Professional opinion lost to personal ambitions,
Collaboration lost to vanity,
Experience lost to proud empty talk.
You have had more than enough time to regret, to confess your mistakes without reservations, and to repent. But unfortunately, you have not done so. Instead, you now want to create an illusion of unity with your fake calls, which you have not earned at any professional, human, or moral level throughout your tenure. In this situation, the only acceptable step is your immediate resignation."
