Executive Board of the Armenia Pan-Armenian Foundation Prepares Detailed Report on Its Activities and Expenditures

The fundraising initiative "We Are Our Borders" by the Armenia Pan-Armenian Foundation was launched with a unified decision on September 27 of this year, from the very first moments of the war. The call to participate in the fundraising was made by the President of the Republic of Armenia, Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees Armen Sarkissian, members of the Board of Trustees, including the President of Artsakh, the Catholicos of All Armenians, the Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, and others. Hundreds of thousands of compatriots from both the Diaspora and Armenia took part in the nationwide fundraising campaign. The role of all the organizations, parties, civil society organizations from the Diaspora involved in the fundraising process, as well as the local organizations of the Foundation operating in various countries, is also invaluable. We express our deep gratitude to the entire Armenian community for their unity, dedication, involvement, and trust.

From the very first day, the Foundation and its international network have provided continuous large-scale assistance to Artsakh by working directly with the government of the Republic of Artsakh, the representation of Artsakh in Armenia, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia, and other departments. This includes diesel generators, ambulances, medical equipment and first aid supplies, essential household items, wood-burning stoves, electric heaters, portable gas stoves, portable charging stations, beds, and a variety of other substantial assistance aimed at alleviating the humanitarian crisis during the war. At the same time, more than one hundred tons of humanitarian aid have been delivered to the homeland in the form of cargo through the network of the Armenia Pan-Armenian Foundation.

In light of the situation that arose after September 27 of this year, the need arose to maximally consolidate resources formed in the Republic of Armenia for the centralized implementation of urgent procurements and rapid recovery of damages (including damage to numerous infrastructures and the healthcare system, various social issues related to displaced persons from Artsakh, as well as the looming pandemic, etc.). It was important to gather not only financial resources but also human resources to organize these works as quickly as possible.

In this context, the Board of Trustees of the Armenia Pan-Armenian Foundation decided to provide specific assistance to the budget of the Republic of Armenia within the framework of the fundraising "We Are Our Borders" for the purpose of unifying the implementation process of such expenses (social, health, infrastructure, etc.). The Board of Trustees has made appropriate decisions based on which the assistance provided by the Foundation has the corresponding substantiated documentation.

The funds have been directed towards the needs of tens of thousands of compatriots displaced from Artsakh, as well as for the financing of healthcare, social, infrastructure, and other critical sectors. According to the charter of the Armenia Pan-Armenian Foundation, the executive board is preparing a detailed report on its activities and expenditures, which will be reviewed by the Foundation’s Audit Commission and presented for approval to the Board of Trustees.

The financial statements of the Foundation will be published after an audit study, along with the conclusion of an independent auditor of international renown. Staying true to our motto of spending donors' resources economically, efficiently, and purposefully, the remaining funds will also be allocated to meet the various needs of families of those displaced from Artsakh, the families of the deceased and wounded, as well as families returning to Artsakh (utility expenses, reconstruction works, partial compensation for lost property, benefits, etc.), which is currently a top priority. Detailed programs are already being developed in this direction with partner organizations.

As an apolitical charitable organization pursuing charitable, social, economic, scientific, educational, cultural, healthcare, and other public benefit objectives, the Foundation will continue to operate in accordance with its missions and statutory goals for the benefit of Armenia, Artsakh, and the Diaspora. The needs are enormous, the work is incomparably vast, which is why nationwide mobilization is even more necessary. Once again, we express our deep gratitude to our hundreds of thousands of donors and all supporters who stood and continue to stand by the homeland and the people of Artsakh.
