Ara Aivazyan Appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs

By the decree of President Armen Sarkissian, Ara Aivazyan has been appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The decree states: "Based on the Prime Minister's proposal, in accordance with Article 131 of the Constitution, as well as part 1 of Article 5 of the Law on the Structure and Activities of the Government, Ara AIVAZYAN is appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs." It is noteworthy that Ara Aivazyan was appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs on October 14 of this year.

Ara Aivazyan was born on March 30, 1969, in Yerevan. He graduated from the Department of Arab Studies at Yerevan State University in 1993. He has been working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1994. From 2016 to 2020, he served as Armenia's Ambassador to Mexico, and from 2011 to 2016, he was the Ambassador to Lithuania. He holds the diplomatic rank of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador. He is married and has one son.
