Jalal Harutyunyan Rejects Prime Minister Pashinyan's Proposal

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited Artsakh Defense Army Commander Jalal Harutyunyan yesterday, who is severely injured and currently in a military hospital, reports hraparak.am.

A source from the news outlet revealed that the Prime Minister informed Harutyunyan that he would soon replace Defense Minister David Tonoyan and appoint Onik Gasparyan as the new minister, while proposing that Harutyunyan take over the position of Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, replacing Gasparyan.

Jalal Harutyunyan outright rejected the proposal, stating, “In such circumstances, I cannot imagine what I could do.” Pashinyan encouraged him not to rush and to think it over before responding.

Today, it was reported that instead of Onik Gasparyan, Vagarshak Harutyunyan will be appointed as minister. Perhaps, Jalal Harutyunyan's rejection was decisive and influenced this decision.
