We Have Been Dispossessed of Our Homeland, The Responsible Have Pretended Nothing Has Happened: Tigran Abrahamyan
Those who say, "people have experienced tragedy, and you keep reminding them of it," are either deeply mistaken or are deliberately trying to create an environment to "digest" this tragic situation. This was stated by Tigran Abrahamyan, the head of the 'Henaket' analytical center and former security advisor to the President of Artsakh, on his Facebook page. Below is the post:
"Our people must know the real picture. And no matter how heavy it is, they must see the plight of the Kashatagh resident whose home is burning, the livestock thrown in front of him, and the Karvachar resident coming towards Armenia, as well as the state of mind of those who have entirely lost everything, yet have planted an orchard in Aghdam. They must know that there are people who are even transporting the remains of their family members to Armenia because Nikol decided that it should be handed over.
What do you want to see? Serials, fairy tales, and to continue living comfortably? What? You can’t escape reality. We have lost Talish, Mataghis, villages, portions of Martuni and Askeran regions, we are losing Shusha, nearly all of Hadrut, Jebrail, Fizuli, Zangelan, and Kubatlu. Forget about the disgraceful document signed by Nikol, which hands over regions to Azerbaijan: Aghdam, almost the entirety of Kashatagh except for a 5 km corridor, and the Shauamyan region, with Karvachar being the administrative center.
And you expect us to remain silent? We will not be silent, because unlike Nikol, we love our homeland not for the asphalt laid on two more streets but because it is ours; it is tied to the lives lost to protect it. We have been dispossessed of our homeland, and those responsible have pretended that nothing has happened. If something happened, then everyone is guilty except themselves; this is how it had to be, and from among us, people say that constantly talking does not heal the wounds of the people. What about this scenario, and what about that one?
Excuse me, do you have friends who lost their home, belongings, or land? I do. Do you know their situation? I do. Do you know what those who have lived in Artsakh feel? They understand the value of the land. And finally, do you know what they feel when you take a detached stance or talk about everything except the tragedy that occurred? I do."
