Russian Sappers Deployed to Nagorno-Karabakh

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has announced the deployment of military personnel from an engineering unit of the peacekeeping brigade of the Central Military District to Nagorno-Karabakh. This movement is facilitated by Il-76 aircraft operated by the Russian Aerospace Forces from Ulyanovsk-Vostochny Airport.

According to the statement, the sappers will conduct engineering reconnaissance, mine clearance of the terrain, roads, and facilities. They will also prepare and maintain supply and evacuation routes, as well as carry out tasks related to water purification and other engineering support operations.

Additionally, service dogs will be deployed for the detection and search of explosive objects.
