The Request for Detention as a Preventive Measure for Arthur Vanetsyan Was Rejected

Lawyer Ervand Varosyan wrote on his Facebook page: “The request for the detention of Arthur Vanetsyan as a preventive measure, submitted by the prosecuting authority, was rejected by the decision of Judge Marine Melkonyan of the Yerevan City Court of General Jurisdiction. The court confirmed that there is no reasonable suspicion that Arthur Vanetsyan is involved in the acts attributed to him.

Domestic courts consistently demonstrate their determination to be guided solely by law, not to carry out state authorities' orders, and to refrain from participating in political persecution.”
