As of Today, the Bodies of 2317 Fallen Soldiers Have Been Examined: Armenian Ministry of Health

The spokesperson for the Armenian Minister of Health, Alina Nikoghosyan, wrote on her Facebook page: "In response to the Facebook user Mikael Minasian's post claiming that the Armenian side had 4750 casualties during the last war in Artsakh, we announce that the information presented in that post is a blatant lie. This user's shameless spreading of falsehoods is a familiar tactic, but exaggerating the casualty figures for the Armenian side crosses all moral boundaries.

The Ministry of Health, as the authority conducting forensic examinations of all casualties, officially states that there are no '1400 deceased individuals yet to be autopsied' as mentioned in the post. To date, our forensic service has examined the bodies of 2317 fallen soldiers, including unidentified individuals. The process of exchanging the bodies of fallen soldiers remaining with the adversary has only recently begun, and the conflicting sides cannot currently ascertain the final numbers while these operations are ongoing.

It is beyond all ethical limits to exploit this sensitive issue for political dividends through false information. On behalf of the entire staff of the Ministry of Health, we express our condolences to all mothers, fathers, and relatives who have lost their sons. We regret that we had to make such a post on this topic."
