This was stated by Gohar Abrahamyan, advisor to the Prosecutor General of Armenia, in an interview with Yerevan.Today, responding to the question of whether an investigation has been launched regarding the statements of former police chief Valery Osipyan and the acting director of the National Security Service, Colonel Mikael Hambardzumyan.

“It should be noted that the statements were made by former heads of law enforcement agencies, the necessity of which does not need additional mention in relation to illegal activities that should have been part of their actions. Furthermore, I will say that even now they are not deprived of the opportunity to contact law enforcement agencies and inform them about these matters. Making a statement that something has happened is one thing, presenting concrete factual data is another matter; they know the procedure, they can present to law enforcement and specify what illegal actions they are referring to, let them present it, and an appropriate legal process will follow,” Abrahamyan stated.

It is worth recalling that on November 12, during a briefing with journalists, former police chief Valery Osipyan responded to Yerevan.Today's question about whether he received illegal orders during his term: “I did receive them, but I did not execute them.” On November 8, the acting director of the National Security Service, Colonel Mikael Hambardzumyan, had also made a post on Facebook on November 12 stating: “Addressing you, Mr. Prime Minister, I want to repeat what I have already once said directly regarding Vazgen Manukyan's statement on 27.10.2020: Political opponents cannot be arrested based on weak and insufficient grounds in criminal cases; political problems are not solved in this way.”
