Montevideo's Legislative Body Recognizes the Independence of Artsakh
The Legislative Assembly of Montevideo in Uruguay has recognized the independence of Artsakh. According to Armenpress, the assembly unanimously approved the resolution.
The published text states that the agreement signed by Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia is not the result of a credible and balanced negotiation recognized by the UN, but rather a consequence of the illegal use of force, which compels the surrender of lands that are a part of a historical heritage and where Armenians have lived for millennia.
In particular, the assembly calls on the international community to respect the status of Artsakh as an independent state, which is the only real path to a peaceful resolution, ensuring lasting peace for both Artsakh and Armenia.
