US Embassy Representative in Armenia to Present Report on Artsakh Issue in Washington

The representative of the US Embassy in Armenia is set to present a report today regarding the situation in Artsakh to Washington. This information was shared by protesters who gathered in front of the embassy and had met with the embassy representative.

"The embassy representative mentioned that they are in direct contact with the Human Rights Defender and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh, and that this information is regularly sent to Washington. We showed him a video where Azerbaijani soldiers are seen torturing an Armenian prisoner alive, which he was unable to watch; he closed his eyes and turned his head. They are well aware of these acts against Armenians but continue to remain silent," said one of the protesters.

He added that during the meeting, they also demanded that the US should halt arms sales to Turkey. One protester also noted that they were told the resolution of the issue could only be through the recognition of Artsakh's independence by the US; there can be no other solution.

"We conveyed the image of an Armenian soldier's decapitated head in the hands of terrorists. Washington must provide a clear assessment of this. No country should remain indifferent to our pain because this threatens everyone. It was indicated that the US supports humanitarian values, yet all those rights are being grossly violated, and when asked why they remain silent, the reply was simply a profound look," said the protester.

The protesters concluded their demonstration in front of the US Embassy in Armenia, stating that they will wait for results.
