Turkish F-16 Shot Down Our Su-25 Attack Aircraft; Unfortunately, Our Pilot Heroically Died
Today at 10:30 AM, F-16 fighter jets belonging to the Republic of Turkey took off from the Ganja Airport of the Republic of Azerbaijan to provide air support for bomb and missile strikes against the settlements of Vardenis region in the Republic of Armenia, as well as the ground units of the Armenian Armed Forces in the regions of Vardenis, Mets Masrik, and Sotk using Azerbaijani Su-25s and Turkish-made Bayraktar UAVs.
During this time, the Armenian Air Defense forces were engaged in combat missions to support their aviation. While carrying out these combat tasks, an Su-25 attack aircraft of the Armenian Air Force was shot down in Armenian airspace by the multi-role F-16 fighter jet of the Turkish Air Force during air-to-air and anti-air battles. Unfortunately, the pilot heroically died in the incident.
The Turkish F-16 multi-role fighter jet was, according to objective monitoring means, located at a depth of 60 km and an altitude of 8200 meters.
