Strike Drones Hit Two Residential Houses in Gegharkunik, Destroying Homes; Casualties Reported: Human Rights Defender

The Human Rights Defender of Armenia has made a statement on his Facebook page: "The villages of Shatvan and Mets Masrik in Gegharkunik province have been subjected to artillery and drone attacks. One civilian has been killed, and two others have been injured. This information has also been reported separately to the Human Rights Defender.

Residents have informed the Defender via alerts that strike drones hit two residential houses, resulting in their destruction. It is utterly condemnable that these attacks were carried out specifically on residential buildings during the nighttime when people are likely at home and, in many cases, already asleep. These are gross violations of international humanitarian law.

Shatvan is the same village where drones were spotted above the working group led by the Human Rights Defender yesterday, causing them to halt their fact-finding missions."
