Lavrov Comments on Germany's Actions Regarding Navalny
Russia has requested consular access to Alexey Navalny, but Berlin has not yet granted it. According to Armenpress, citing "RIA Novosti," this was announced by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
“A week and a half ago, we officially requested consular access to our citizen from the German authorities. We have not received a response to this request. We hope that, nonetheless, our partners will understand the futility of speaking with us from the position of some higher entity that cannot even be bothered to respond to legal questions based on international conventions and only demands some kind of repentance from us—the arrogant ones,” Lavrov stated at a joint press conference with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.
