Whom Did Gagik Tsarukyan Refer To? Iveta Tonoyan Clarifies
It is beyond doubt that Mr. Alen Simonyan has a vivid imagination, but I believe that whoever needed to see themselves in Gagik Tsarukyan's post definitely saw it. This statement was made by Iveta Tonoyan, a member of the National Assembly from the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), during a conversation with journalists in Parliament, responding to the Deputy Speaker's assertion that Tsarukyan's Facebook post was directed at BHK member Gevorg Petrosyan.
When asked if the post was aimed at Nikol Pashinyan, Tonoyan reiterated that whoever needed to see themselves saw it: “We are indeed preparing to enshrine the provision in the Constitution that individuals with mental health issues should not occupy high political positions. Whoever sees themselves in this statement is entirely their issue. We are already working on this with our experts.”
Responding to the comment that Alen Simonyan stated Araik Harutyunyan's announcement did not have a specific addressee, Tonoyan advised him to listen to Harutyunyan's concluding speech again to understand what it is about. Tonoyan insists that during his speech, Harutyunyan reported absolute misinformation about them, crossing the boundaries of decency.
The BHK member also added that their experts are working on the possibilities of initiating legal proceedings. “I understand that the authorities have adopted a strategy characterized by accusations without addressees, but when they have the guts to say something nominal, they will also receive a response,” she noted.
