Individuals Exempted from Military Service in Armenia Will Have the Opportunity to Join the Investigative Committee

The Armenian government is proposing changes that will allow individuals who have been legally exempted from mandatory military service to be appointed to positions within the Investigative Committee. This was stated by the Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee, Arsen Ayvazyan, during the discussion of the draft law on amendments and supplements to the ‘Law on the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.’

According to him, current legislation recognizes a specific group of individuals in Armenia who have been legally exempted from military service. However, if their health, physical, or mental condition does not hinder them from working at the Investigative Committee, they should be given the opportunity to join the service.
