Gagik Tsarukyan's Post Is Not About Nikol Pashinyan, But Gevorg Petrosyan, Says Alen Simonian
I am confident that Gagik Tsarukyan's post on Facebook pertains to Gevorg Petrosyan. This was stated today, September 17, during a conversation with reporters in the National Assembly by the Deputy Speaker Alen Simonian.
“There are reports circulating in the media and elsewhere that he has always had health issues. When he was a minister, it was also a reason for him to leave his position as Minister of Labor and Social Affairs after just a few months. I believe that decision was made by Gagik Tsarukyan. Now, during Gagik Tsarukyan's vibrant political rise, he is trying to raise such questions to create an illusion of political activity,” said Alen Simonian.
When asked if it was directed towards the Prime Minister, Simonian noted that in such a case, Gagik Tsarukyan would have had the courage to name someone or write more clearly: “I am not even sure that that page contains Gagik Tsarukyan.”
Earlier, it was reported that Gagik Tsarukyan had written on his Facebook page: “I believe it is time to clearly stipulate in the Constitution that individuals with serious mental health issues should not hold high political positions, putting the safety of the country and the citizens of Armenia at risk.” Prior to that, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote on his Facebook page that it is hard not to agree with the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports: “First, you invite foreign women to the church to show them around. Then, as a police sergeant, you gang-rape the guests in the church premises and rob them. Then you engage in the defense of national values and national identity. Truly a ‘patriotic’ activity. Definitely support, support without question.”
